What is Mindful Movement?

Here at Balanced Body we believe that movement – particularly mindful movement – can change the way we live. But what exactly is mindful movement? Well, the concept starts with the notion that the body and mind are interconnected. Mindful movement promotes body awareness through very focused and precise exercises – like Pilates or CoreAlign®  sessions.

Now, although those are the two that we currently focus on, they are certainly not the only methods. Mindful movement exercise also includes:

  • Yoga
  • Tai Chi
  • GYROTONIC®
  • Feldenkrais

Along with many, many more.

With mindful movement your body learns (or re-learns) how to move at its most optimal. It’s also a great complement to cardiovascular or weight bearing exercises because it can give anyone – from beginners to elite athletes – an extremely well-rounded fitness regimen that works the whole body and invigorates the mind.
