New Upholstery Fabric & Colors for Balanced Body Equipment
Balanced Body equipment now features Naugahyde®, the finest US-made upholstery on the market. This change lets us continue to provide the high quality and timely service you expect from Balanced Body. It also means we can offer you a fresh new collection of 51 colors for a beautiful and personalized touch to your equipment.
We now offer nine colors (including Black) at no extra charge! Forty-two more colors are available (custom charges apply). Additional lead times apply on all colors except Black. Most Balanced Body equipment that is stocked (available for immediate delivery) is Black. Stock color for the Orbit™, is Greystone.
In addition to its beauty and durability, Naugahyde® with BeautyGard® also features the best available protection against bacterial and fungal micro-organisms.
Matching previously ordered colors
If you ordered Balanced Body equipment with custom upholstery colors in the past and wish to order additional items in that color, please email or call us (800-Pilates or 916-388-2838) to inquire about availability. We may have some older colors in stock, but supplies are very limited.

Strong, beautiful, environmentally sensitive – no compromises
Balanced Body® wood is beautiful, absorbs noise, and is built to last a lifetime. We offer two standard wood choices, Strata® Rock Maple and Strata® Artisan Maple. Strata’s superb strength and durability come from its solid, multi-grained core, laminated in alternating grain directions. This creates an exceptionally strong, straight board, which neutralizes the forces that could otherwise cause twisting. The result is an unusually strong, sturdy wood – ideal for Reformer frames – with a distinctive “butcher block” look. The Strata engineering process also uses more of the tree with very little waste, making it not only stronger than single-plank wood, but more environmentally sensitive.
All Balanced Body® woods, including our new Balanced Body Select Strata options, come from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) suppliers who purchase wood from well-managed North American forests. In these forests, tree growth exceeds removals by a nearly 2-to-1 margin.
All Balanced Body woods are complemented by a smooth and lustrous finish that brings out the beauty of the natural grain and protects the wood. Our wood Reformers and Trapeze Tables are backed by the Balanced Body Lifetime Warranty.
Strata® Rock Maple
Standard for all our Reformers, Rock Maple has a tighter, denser, and more consistent grain than oak or pine. As a result, it better resists expansion and contraction from changes in temperature and humidity. The joints remain strong, and the bolts remain tight in the wood. It is one of the reasons our equipment lasts practically forever.
Strata® Artisan Maple
Strata Artisan Maple – equally durable and eco-friendly – is a beautiful alternative to the more uniform grain and color of Strata Rock Maple. You will notice more natural color, character and pronounced grain detail. An artful alternative to consider.
Both are complemented by the smooth and lustrous finish we give our wood equipment, to bring out the beauty of the grain. All Strata equipment is backed by Balanced Body’s Lifetime Warranty.
