Bally Total Fitness - Pilates a Key Program Offering
Balanced Body® Selected as Exclusive Pilates Equipment & Training Partner
Sacramento, Calif. – March 4, 2008
Balanced Body®, the world's largest Pilates company, is partnering with Bally Total Fitness to upgrade and expand the Bally Total Pilates program. Balanced Body is providing instructor training sessions and workshops for approximately 150 Bally instructors across the country, plus supplying the fitness centers with Allegro Reformers®, EXO® Chairs and Pilates Arcs™.
“The breadth of our Pilates repertoire differentiates us from other fitness chains and we expect Pilates to be an important source of non-dues revenue,” said Norris Tomlinson, senior director of program development for Bally Total Fitness Corporation. “Pilates has been a key Bally program offering over the past 10 years, and it will play an even more important part of our future. Our goal is to offer complete Pilates programming for all of our member demographics. In that endeavor, Balanced Body is an invaluable partner. No other organization could supply us with the quality equipment and staff education on a national scale in such an accelerated timeline.”
Balanced Body provides scalable Pilates training and equipment programs worldwide to large and single-club fitness centers. This month, Balanced Body University® will provide Pilates mat, Reformer, EXO Chair and Pilates Arc training sessions and workshops for Bally instructors in 12 major US cities, along with installing the new Pilates equipment. Bally’s enhanced Total Pilates program, part of the organization’s New Better Bally initiative, launches nationwide on April 1.
“We first partnered with Bally in 1999 when it became the first national fitness company to offer Pilates mat and Reformer classes,” said Brad Thorp, director of national sales for Balanced Body. “Today, we’re thrilled to help Bally continue its commitment to Pilates, and to once again become the first fitness chain to offer Pilates Chair and Arc programming.”
