Side Bend Obliques

PURPOSE
» Stretches the side body and the spine.

STARTING POSITION
Stand sideways to the anchor. Take a single handle in both hands and walk sideways away from the anchor until the arms are directly overhead. Bring the legs together and stand tall.

MOVEMENT SEQUENCE
Exhale and lean away from the anchor. The arms remain overhead as the body fans out to the side. Exhale to initiate the return to the starting position.

VARIATION
Rotation - From the side stretch, rotate the body toward the anchor.
